Resolution 20-183- Urge Public Utility Commission to Extend Utility Shutoffs

There is currently a Public Utilities Commission mandated moratorium on utility shut-offs but Hawaiian Electric Industries plans to end their current shutoff suspension on September 1, as well as resume late fees for payments starting September 15th. Hawaiʻi’s financial hardship does not end with scheduled moratoriums or emergency rules and it is anticipated to last through at least the end of the year.
